Course Overview

FNS40615-Certificate IV in Accounting (Current)

Duration: 34 weeks [3 terms] including term breaks.

The Certificate IV in Accounting provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the accounting system and related roles within various industries. Students are guided through the processes and procedures from both the practical and legal aspects of the accounting profession.

FNS50215-Diploma of Accounting (Current)

Duration: 52 Weeks [4 terms] including term breaks

This is shortened to 34 weeks [3 terms] including term breaks if the student has completed the FNS40615-Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent Qualification

The Diploma of Accounting focuses on building professional accounting financial management skills that are fundamental in all accounting positions. Students will develop a broad range of skills such as applied accounting tasks, projects, budgets and financial plans

 

Full-time study

Delivery of the course consists of 20 hours per week of scheduled classes on campus.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may be able to gain credits in their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF Qualifications or Accredited Courses and Statements of Attainment issued by other registered education providers are recognised by Cambridge International College. Application for RPL must be submitted before the commencement of classes.

Assessment

Students are advised of the assessment requirements at the beginning of each unit. The assessment process will include a variety of tasks to demonstrate competence in the required skills and knowledge. Assessment continues throughout the program until the student either achieves competency in the assessment tasks or further training needs are identified and addressed.

Graduates of the FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting and the FNS40615 Diploma of Accounting will obtain accounting skills and knowledge which can lead to an array of possible career paths within the financial services sector and other industries requiring accounting support functions.

Opportunities for further studies

Students who complete the FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting may choose to undertake a range of Diploma level qualifications within the Financial Services Training Package including the FNS40615 Diploma of Accounting.

Students who complete the FNS40615 Diploma of Accounting may choose to undertake a range of Advanced Diploma level qualifications within the Financial Services Training Package including the FNS60210 Advanced Diploma of Accounting or a Bachelor of Accounting or related degree qualification.
